How to unbrick a hacked iPhone

There maybe hope left for all those people who hacked their iPhone. Only to find out that when they upgraded the firmware they were left with nothing more than an expensive brick.

Gizmodo have reported that they have managed to use some recently released software to downgrade the new 1.1.1 firmware to the old 1.0.2 firmware which was subject to the hacking. The post states however that although features have been restored the ability to make calls on the phone still remains dead.
